Reflexology Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Courses - Onsite CPDs

Maternity Reflexology - Part 1

Description
This is an essential day for students and qualified reflexologists who wish to work with women and men who are trying to conceive and woman who are pregnant or have had a baby. I have been working in this area for 10 years, and the effects are enormous. During the day I am happy to share my experiences and suggest ways in which you can tap into these clients. The morning is mainly theory, looking at why couples are finding it harder to conceive, issues during pregnancy and in labour and post natal. You will learn about lifestyle factors that may help your clients and also how to adapt your reflexology treatment. You will also look at hand reflexology that can be given to your clients as homework. The afternoon is practical, and you will carry out a treatment on each other suitable for woman trying to conceive and post 38 weeks of pregnancy as this is where your treatment changes most. The practical includes learning to work the pituitary, hypothalamus, ovaries and uterus deeper. Also included are new opening moves, linking technique, and other potentially relevant reflex points i.e. penis, cervix and spleen 6. The course is also backed up with notes and a pack of articles for your further reading.  Please bring a pen, towel and powder or cream for the practical.

Maternity Reflexology - Part 2

This day has been organised as a follow up to the Maternity day, it is mainly a practical day to reinforce Reflexology for clients wishing to conceive and who are pregnant. It is important that you have already completed the maternity day, as most of the theory is covered on this day. The day will start with a general question and answer session so if you have come across any issues you were unsure how to handle – these can be discussed. The rest of the day will then be split into 4 sessions:

Reflexology for clients trying to conceive
Reflexology for the first trimester
Reflexology for post 38 weeks of pregnancy.
Post natal Each session will have:
An introduction looking more specifically at how you need to adapt your reflexology at these times,
Looking at different scenarios through case studies
A demonstration as to how to access the points effectively,
Practical reflexology. A great day to reinforce and practice what you learnt on the Maternity day
.

Course Dates:
Sunday 20th May 2012
Sunday 23rd Sept 2012

Student Feedback
Hi Sally Thank you so much for the course on Saturday. It was brilliant and very inspirational and I hope to come to more in the future. It is a huge help and very encouraging to be with other reflexologists, I came home bubbling with the enthusiasm that you passed on to us. My first grandchild is due in two weeks and they have chosen not to be told the sex of the baby, however you can imagine that I will be thinking of an excuse to have a surreptitious peep at my daughter in law's feet and see for myself without letting on what I have seen! Best wishes and thank you. Please keep up the wonderful inspirational work you do.
Caroline

Hi Sally Just wanted to say thank you again for such a fantastic and inspirational maternity course on Saturday. I had literally found out that I had passed my exams on the Monday before so it was perfect timing in terms of setting me off into the world with a focus! You mentioned that you had a list of other linked reflexes - I'd be really interested to receive a copy. Also on a more general note, I am trying to decide how best to go about starting to work as a reflexologist and have been looking at renting a room which is proving to be very expensive and inflexible. In your experience do you think, particularly for fertility and maternity, visiting clients in their own homes works well? I don't have the space to set aside a room in my own house unfortunately. Thank you once again - it was fab!!!! Jane Johnstone

Dear Sally, Just a quick note to say a big thank you for the course on Saturday, it was a really great course and I have already put the treatment into practice on one of my pregnant clients last night (and predicted sex of baby so will let you know if i'm right or not!). I'm sure i'll be back for other courses in the future. Thanks All the best Anna Turns Anna Turns Reflexology Thank you for a wonderful & inspiring course. I have been on quite a few courses now, & yours was up there with the best. I think what made it so special was your enthusiasm & experience, telling us examples & stories. Please find attached photos of the articles taken from the magazine which you hadn’t received last Saturday. You suggested that we email you for a couple of reasons, one in case we forgot information. Well my exams are Wednesday & Thursday, I will review the coursework then & hopefully will recall everything. The other thing was you said you could send us some information or links relating to the linking techniques. This is the first time I have even heard of it, & I think it is a huge omission from my current course. Thank you once again. Pity I hadn’t heard of reflexology when we were trying to conceive. We have a dog now ….& no regrets.
Kind regards **Marian Child**
